You’re a stylish, modern person and prefer your powder room to make a statement as such, so you’re drawn to the eclectic design of a vessel sink. Actually,  vessel sinks are direct descendants of the earliest bathroom sinks — the wash basin — which, in the days before indoor plumbing, were never without their trusty sidekick, the pitcher.

A vessel sink is a type of sink that sits on the surface of a counter. Some are partially recessed in a hole, which allows the basin to have some support. Because of their above counter height, they require specific faucets.
