Disinfecting Your Kitchen Sink

Never use cleaning solutions with bleach or acid on your sink or faucet. Here’s some tips offered by Franke for safely cleaning and disinfect your stainless, chrome, fireclay, or granite sink and faucet. (For other faucet finishes not listed, only perform steps 1 and 2.)

  1. Remove all items surrounding your kitchen sink and faucet.
  2. Clean sink and faucet with dish soap and water solution. Rinse and wipe dry.
  3. Spray alcohol solution (at least 60% rubbing alcohol) on faucet handles and areas most touched.
(A sprayer top screws right onto a 32 fl oz isopropyl alcohol bottle.)
  4. Use a microfiber cloth to shine and buff the sink and faucet.

Warning: Alcohol fumes are strong, always use rubbing alcohol with caution and in a well-ventilated area. Both rubbing alcohol and its fumes are flammable! Keep rubbing alcohol and any cleaning materials (ie: rags) used with rubbing alcohol far from any heat sources.
