Everything and the Kitchen Sink Can Match Your Personality

Dr. Seuss knew… “Today you are you, that is truer than true. There is no one alive that is youer than you.” This unique personality that you offer to the world in many ways can be found in the style choices you make in your home, especially in the hub of your home, the kitchen.

Whether your design style is Old World or modern, city chic or country cozy, there are kitchen plumbing fixtures to enhance and fit you. Here are some tips and products for creating that youer-than-you kitchen.

Cottage

Cottage style with its timeless choices, mixes vintage treasures, like reclaimed wood floors, repurposed signage, with fresh and white cabinets, white trim and natural colors. Tile, lighting, and countertop choices can all give a nod to traditional styling. The faucet and cabinet hardware – the jewelry for the kitchen – in aged pewter, aged brass or oil rubbed bronze suit this design style. Most cottage kitchens feature either an under mount or apron sink too. Here are just some of the cottage design fixtures you might explore with all your senses in person at Immerse’s St. Louis showroom:

Traditional / Classic

Still the reigning design style, the timeless look of traditional kitchens speaks to most people. Cabinets can be painted or stained, and glass-front doors are a popular option, as are multipurpose islands. The best traditional kitchens pull in classic elements without looking too stodgy or trapped in a time warp. We have plenty of kitchen faucets, sinks and hardware, as well as tile for creating a traditional kitchen. Gooseneck, two handle faucets are popular in this design category. Here are just a few items you might find in a traditional kitchen:

Modern

Streamlined and sophisticated, modern style is the forward-thinking relative of contemporary. Cabinets in these kitchen, many times display unadorned doors, streamlined hardware and flush settings, showing their contemporary parentage

Transitional

Transitional kitchens blend the best of traditional familiarity with modern sophistication to create comfortable, livable spaces.

Contemporary

Contemporary kitchens are the epitome of the sleek, minimalist layout. Contemporary can shift as it’s generally noted to be the style of the present time period. We collected some faucets, sinks and cabinet hardware together for the Modern, Transitional and Contemporary slideshow. Come see these brands and more in our St. Louis showroom:

Old World

Intricate moldings, hand-carved details and dark woods are hallmarks of this European-influenced style.

Craftsman

Simple Shaker-style cabinet door details, rustic hardware and open shelving are hallmarks in the Craftsman kitchen.

Boho Chic

The Bohemian décor originated from Central-eastern Europe and was commonly used by the nomads and the artistic people. It is an amalgamation of styles and blends with most cultures. Open shelving, mixed patterns and textures, or a touch of vintage in accessories or appliances are the key ingredients for a bohemian kitchen.

Coastal

Whether you live at the beach or just wish you did, you can count on cool shades of blue, green, white and sand to create a vacation-time mood. Seagrass and wicker seating are casual, comfortable and coastal. Fabrics and flooring designed to stand up to wet bathing suits make coastal-style kitchens easy to care for, and window treatments that allow for maximum sunlight will have everyone in let’s-get-to-the-beach mode bright and early.
Here are some kitchen pieces you can see at Immerse that might fit into your Old World, Craftsman, Boho or Coastal kitchen design. We have many more.
