For as long as I can remember, St. Louisans have been jetting to Chicago to a plumbing showroom known as Waterworks. I stumbled into this store by mistake when I was first starting my career, and it simply oozed of luxury and tradition. I was way out of my league back then.

Waterworks was created by Barbara Sallick and her husband Robert in 1978. Barbara’s father was in the supply business, so her roots in the industry ran deep. She attended design school at Yale, and her passion for design, married with traditional plumbing fixtures evolved into Waterworks, a brand of luxurious elegance.

To know Waterworks is to love it! Once exposed, its followers have been known to develop an addiction. Design magazines constantly showcase Waterworks outfitted celebrity bathrooms (think Cameron Diaz and Courteney Cox), and the most luxurious resorts boast Waterworks fixtures, including The Cloisters in Sea Island, The Waldorf Astoria in Beijing, The Montage in Beverly Hills and The Viceroy in New York.

What makes Waterworks so desirable? Their products are timeless, perfectly proportioned, and never overdesigned. Barbara Sallick and her team is known to take two years to design a new product, and they usually nail it, so much so that they are often copied by other brands. Check out this new “Regulator” kitchen faucet. We’ve never seen anything like it!

Waterworks
While many of their pieces lean towards traditional, (although not necessarily fussy), they have very popular products in the mechanical/industrial style, and some that compete in the “soft/modern” arena as well. Overall, if you buy a Waterworks piece, you will feel you have purchased something impeccably created, produced, and finished.

Waterworks has a number of company owned showrooms in major U.S. in cities where you would expect them to be found, i.e. L.A., NYC, Boston, Dallas, Atlanta, San Francisco, and the like. They also have an international presence in London, Canada, Mexico, China, and more. Recently, (and most importantly!), they began partnering with existing showrooms in smaller markets, such as St. Louis.

Today is a new day here at Immerse as we are proud to announce that we are now a boutique partner of Waterworks, offering this line to the St. Louis and surrounding community. We’re a “boutique within a boutique”. We’ve built out approx. 300 square feet within our studio, devoted exclusively to Waterworks. We are featuring their plumbing, tile, lighting, accessories, and hardware to start, and can order their furnishings (towels, etc.) as well.

We also want you to be aware that Waterworks offers a limited collection at a lower price point called Waterworks Studio….a collection of fittings, surfaces and furnishings, which maintain the company’s commitment to classic design and fine craftsmanship. Studio is made in the same factories as are their Heritage products, with just fewer choices of styles and finishes. Below is the collection’s Roadster faucet.

We at Immerse are very excited about this new venture and invite you to come see these products for yourself. We know you will fall in love, just as we have.
